I trained at Merristwood College near Guildford in Surrey, and have worked as a Garden Consultant and Designer since 1999, having involvement in well over 150 gardens, including designing and supervising the planting of the gardens of Charterhouse School Godalming to bring them to the level of being able to take part in the Open Gardens Scheme. Several of the private gardens I designed have won awards in local competitions. I have experience of historical plantings and, until moving to Norfolk in 2009, I looked after the Godalming Museum Garden behind Godalming High Street and the garden of the Watts Gallery in Compton.

I have an eclectic style, my priority being to help you create a garden which brings you delight, and which you can easily manage. A significant part of my work is gardening education, and I am happy to show clients how to look after their garden until they feel confident about managing it on their own. Once I have designed an garden, or maybe been involved in even a small garden project, I produce a month-by-month maintenance schedule specific to the garden in question so that essential tasks are remembered.

I also run courses on garden history and aspects of gardening: from home and also for the Workers' Educational Associtaion in their Norfolk branches (click here for information on this). I also give illustrated talks on a range of gardening subjects (click here for details).
